4.  Get licensure for your ALF

This is because there is no way that you can commence operations if you are not licensed if your state requires it.

Before you can be licensed to operate, an officer from the relevant department will be required to visit your facility’s premises to ensure everything is in order. If something is amiss, they will give you time to rectify it. Most states will charge you extra if they have to come back again for another pre-licensure inspection.
